Breton Table

Breton Table

Oh gosh - I don't know where to start on this one. I was so delighted when Spoonflower announced one of the weekly pattern design challenge themes was "French Country" - if you know me, you know I'm obsessed with France. I lived in France eons ago and I just fell in love. I'm so lucky to finally (17 years later!) be planning a trip back in just a few months.  But, the long and short of it is - I lived in a small fishing village in Brittany, France - just about 2km inland from the coast and on a river. I immediately noticed the consistency of the Breton aesthetic - blue and white striped Breton shirts everywhere, blue shutters on nearly every house. So, when I started designing for the "French Country" Challenge, I started with a few things in mind - Breton Blue, Stripes, Fish, and, remembering the really romantic and whimsical lunches I enjoyed in gardens by the river... a few 'rustic' florals.

The first set I'm sharing is just a portion of the entire collection I designed around this theme - but this one is so close to my heart, directly inspired by my adopted town in Brittany, this 'Breton Table' brings it all together.

I designed these items for table linens, but you can mix and match with ANY spoonflower products including yardage of fabric and wallpaper :)

And here's a quick look at the Breton Table collection all together (and a sneak peek at the French Garden collection).
