I started a small series of paintings on paper this spring, when the world shut down because of the pandemic and we found a renewed sense of freedom and inspiration in the woods. Mornings walks suddenly became a critical part of our day.
I had packed my bags and was on a plane for my first solo international trip, stuck in a hurricane, and stranded in New Jersey. Eventually I got to Paris, where I was also stranded because I couldn't remember the name of the town I was going to, and as it turns out, I didn't pay close enough attention in high school French class.
